Reach to high reach. GPA and ACT are very, very low for MSU.

Did you take any honors/AP classes?

I’m taking ap stats for my senior year.

Honors

Physics
Modern American History
Earth Science

My weighted gpa was 3.3

Massive reach

Yeah, big reach. Apply early though and you never know? Are you planning on retaking the ACT? Have you tried taking the SAT instead?

I’m retaking the act in september.

I’d suggest trying to take the SAT if you can afford it. People generally do a lot better on one than the other.

However, MSU is a pretty GPA-driven school and a <3.0 GPA is a very high reach.

What is your class rank? Do you know? If it’s high then it would show grade deflation, improving your chances.

rank is around 50%. I got a 27 on the math, but did very bad on the english.

Well, good luck. Apply early, get some really good recommendations, and try. Do really well your senior year too and that will help you a lot.

Good luck!

thanks roman

Yeah I would say reach, you definately did low on sciences. If your a in-state student with no financial need that may be a big help. MSU is big in sports, so not sure if being athletic would help or not.

i’d for sure retake the ACT if i were you. and try really hard to do well in all your classes your senior year. at this point it’s a reach, however.

Does having no financial need really help?

^
Being a large state public university, I could only assume.

Wow that sucks, cause I’m poooor T_T. Either way, MSU is more of a safety for me, but I’m really worried about U of M. . .
