Chance me? :)

What are my chances of getting into the University of Texas for the December 1, 2010 Regular admission deadline?

I am from out of state.

Our school does not do GPA on the 4.0 scale but the 100. I have an 89.0057 unweighted and 91.057 weighted. I have taken 8 honors courses and am completing 3 AP's this year.

I have a 29 composite ACT (33 English, 25 Math, 31 Reading, 28 Science, 10/12 on the writing)

I have a lot of Extracurriculars (NHS, Cross Country, Tennis, Video producer for school, Homecoming, Good amount of volunteer hours, Student Government, freshman mentor leader)

I believe on the 4.0 scale I have a 3.5 unweighted and about a 3.8 weighted.

Right now my unweighted GPA for my first semester senior year is a 90.6 and weighted its roughly a 94 or 95. (Does Texas take into account first semester senior grades, because I have 3 AP's and an honors and am kicking butt so far!)

What are my chances of getting into Texas do you think?

Since you’re from out of state your chances are good.

Really??? I thought it was harder to get in from out of state

Lucky for us UT placed into effect their “exemption from the Texas House 10% bill.” They still must admit automatically those who fall within 8% (or 10% they will lower it eventually) but they must only do so for 75% of the incoming class; That 25% is left for instate, international, and the out of states. That’s a much more comforting number then around 10% for the remaining.

Oh wow really? This is news to me. So it went from being 10 % out of state to 25 %??? So do I have a good chance??
