Chance my best friend for Ivy league!

<p>Can you chance my friend for ivies? I know she has not really high stats, but it's a competitive school..</p>

<p>Rising junior</p>

<p>SAT: 2200+
AP: Haven't taken any. Next year will take AP Calc BC
Rank: Doesn't rank (in a very competitive school)
GPA: 3.8 uw (doesn't know weighted grade.. so yea)
Volunteer: worked in a political group, tutor kids
Clubs: Anime, Math club
Awards: none
Summer: Spent at school taking extra classes</p>

<p>This person, may have a good SAT score, but he/she is lacking EC’s which is very important during the admission process, especially at an Ivy League school. Their stats are good so far, but it’ll be even better if he/she added at least 2 SAT II Subject Test (required for Ivies), EC’s and leadership.</p>

<p>Schools aren’t ‘competitive’ in the eyes of ivy and peer schools unless they regularly send about 30% or more of the class to ivy leage and other top schools.</p>

<p>Your friends chances are extremely low: ECs are below average, summer classes don’t bode well if they are ‘extra help’ classes and not higher level classes, and GPA is pretty low unless it places your friend in at least the top 5% of the class (if that’s where you or your friend think she ranks in the class)</p>

<p>It is NYC most competitive schools. To enter one must past the SHSAT. and the classes she is taking is not remedial classes. They are never taken before to get ahead in classes</p>

<p>The only competitive schools for ivies are the top 55 capping at stuy and any school in the 8 schools association.</p>

<p>we need more information about her summer activities, ECs, possible teacher recs and such. Her GPA is a bit lacking but her SAT score is around the area for some Ivys</p>

<p>SHe goes to one of those (don’t want to write the school. But it is the 2nd hardest to get to).</p>
