Without ECs, it is really hard to chance someone for a school as selective as UNC, UVA or Mich. I would think that your evaluation of your standing with each school would be accurate, but I’m not 100% sure. Look up the stats for each of the colleges you listed and look at their middle 50% ACT scores. If you are above or around the higher number (75%), you can consider it a safety school. If you are around the 50% mark or right in the middle, consider it a match school. If you are in the 25% range, consider it a reach/high reach school, and if you’re below that, consider it an uber-reach school.
For example:
Michigan - Uber-Reach (25% is a 31, you would be 29)
Also, take into account the acceptance rates of the schools; if they have an acceptance rate below 25%, consider them highly selective; between 25-50% is mildly selective, and above 50% is not very selective. Conversely, below 15% is extremely selective, and between 5-10% is “cross your fingers and hope for the best” territory. Hope this helped!
@DJCURRYBEATS19 Thank you for the help and yes, Michigan is kind of my lottery school just by the slim chance they take someone with stats as low as mine compared to their averages.
No problem! I completely understand why and your reasoning behind why you’ll be applying to Michigan - you can never be 100% certain with these things! GL!
