Chance of me getting into hotel administration of Cornell university?

Hello, I am an Asian girl who's going to be a junior.
I moved from Moscow, Russia to USA recently, so I really need to catch up, and I am very stressed out about that.
I am currently aiming for hotel administration of Cornell University, and I really hope to get into this school.
So I wanted to discuss seriously whether I have a chance of being able to get into the hotel administration of Cornell university...
I know that I am assuming things randomly without knowing the aftermath, but I really hope to know if this works.

For E-C, there weren't actually any club; there were only sports and debates team. I barely became a peer tutor because I literally begged the teacher in charge of the club even though I was a new student... Now that I know there are many clubs here, I will try to be active :) I want to make the billiard club in the school, but I don't know yet. :)

Current GPA: 3.2 (I'm planning to work butt off to get to higher GPA as I can.)

E-C: Basketball JV (9 & 1st place), Peer Tutoring (10-12), Chess (11-12), Band (9-12), Class Board (11-12), Math team (11-12)

AP: none because my previous school didn't offer APs... only took pre-IBs :(

SAT II:

World History, Math II (going to take these two in this September)
Biology E/M and US History (After taking AP classes...)

Junior Courses:

AP Calculus AB
AP Macroeconomics (+perhaps AP Microeconomics)
AP Biology
AP US History
Band
Accelerated English
Mandarin 1 (couldn't take higher level...)
+ I would probably take AP Environmental Science by self-studying...

senior year:
AP Chemistry (one of the requirement I need to take for the hotel administration)
AP Stats
AP Gov
AP Eng &Lit
Mandarin 2
Band
AP Psychology

If I can work on my plans and get straight A's (hopefully), then do you think I would have a chance to get into hotel administration of Cornell University? I would be so grateful if someone can comment about this. Thank you! ^_^

Plus, I didn’t take act or sat yet, but from the practice tests, I got about 29 in act. I am currently trying to enhance it more… Again please help me out here!!

It’s hard to judge since you’re only a rising junior, but I’ll assume that you will continue your academic trend (I know you said that you’ll work really hard, but going from no AP’s to 5 of them will be a difficult transition). Based on your projected ACT of 29 along with the other information you provided, I’d say that your chances are slim to none. I hate to be so frank, but I don’t want to give you false hope. Your GPA, if it stays that way, is far too low for Cornell. You need to bring it up to a 3.7 at the very LEAST. Also, a 29 ACT is too low for Cornell as well. Furthermore, your EC’s are average at best. Nothing really stands out.

My advice is to word extremely hard your junior year. Get all A’s, get 5’s on your AP tests, and STUDY STUDY STUDY for the SAT and ACT. Try out practice tests for both so you know which one you’re better at. Also, join some clubs that you’re passionate about, but also ones that are more serious than billiards club (not that you shouldn’t join that, but something that isn’t a game).

Best of luck! Feel free to ask any other questions!

you should check out the cornell acceptance threads for prior years and look at the grades ad test scores for applicants and accepted students. Perhaps private messaging students who were accepted to the hotel school will get you even more insight. Do not give up! The fact that you moved from Russia will be taken into account. Also, the differnet schools at cornell have different acceptance criteria. I suggest that you contact the hotel school as well.

Try UNLV for a safety…

very very difficult
