I know Rugers is probably easier. I have a 3.17 gpa, top 25% of my class, which I'm guessing is a bit low for TCNj at least. I also, however, have an 1890 SAT (720 reading 570 math, 610 writing). What do you all think?

Bump. i’m from NJ btw

Your SATs on the 1600 scale (math and CR) are just about the average for TCNJ. You should bump them up to compensate for your GPA if you have time. You still have a shot at TCNJ and you are probably likely for Rutgers, especially if you apply early for TCNJ. There are high quality students at both of these schools, and TCNJ especially is looking to attract more students as its national reputation has yet to grow. And even though your 3.17 sounds low, you are top 25% which shows that your school might grade low. I’d say you have a good shot at both.

I’m a NJ resident also

I am also wondering what my chances are for TCNJ. I’ll be applying as a freshman for Fall 2012. I have a 3.7 GPA, top 25% of class, lots of honors classes, a couple AP. I have a lot of community/volunteer service and work experience, just not many E.C.'s or leadership. SAT: 1610 (M620 CR480 W510)

P.S> i’m also in NHS and retaking the SAT 's soon.

You know Rutgers is harder to get into and a hundred times better.

Why do you believe Rutgers is more difficult to get into and a better school? I’ve always gotten the sense TCNJ is more difficult.
