chance of transfer to Cornell ILR Spring 2008

<p>standing: international student
Currently attending Penn state (3rd semester)
College Cumulative GPA: 3.97/4.0 (28.5 credits) I had one A- in an Art class. ( 1st semester 3.92 and 2nd sem: 4.0/4.0)
SAT: 1850 (optional??), took 3 times and 1850 was totalled up with the highest points in each section out of 3 SATs (How does Cornell look at it??) (510 reading, 610 writing, 730 math)...:(</p>

<p>attended a Canadian HS, no ranking
HS GPA: barely 3.0 ( 3.6 in 12th grade ) Cumul may be even lower than 3.0...
NO SAT2's nor AP's as I attended a small Canadian HS.</p>

<p>Extra curricular Acts: </p>

<p>-Church band leader for 3 yrs
-Sunday school teacher (for kids) for 2 yrs
-School band & Jazz band since 9th grade (but not in college)
-Worked as an English teacher at an institute in Korea
-Peer tutor for 6 mths in 12th gr
-Leadership program held by HS for 1 yr.</p>

<p>Honors: </p>

<p>-honor roll in 9th and 12th grade.
-I'm a member of the NSCS (National Society of Collegiate Scholars)
-I got the highest grade in Macro Econ and 2nd highest in Micro
-Received "Korea Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship"
-I got offered to be a supplemental tutor for Econ and Calc in my current college.</p>

<p>PROBLEM: my HS gpa is really bad..I started trying hard upon arrival to Penn state to transfer to an Ivy league. My SAT scores are relatively bad but I saw the SATs are optional (Is this correct?) </p>

<p>PLEASE CHANCE ME!!</p>

<p>I think you have a really good shot it you already completed the pre recs for the ILR program. Its def important to show passion for the program in your essays and evidence it through your ecs.</p>

<p>Thanks..what do you mean by ILR pre recs? do you mean courses like labor economics instead of Macro or Micro econ?</p>
