Chance of UCLA?

Hi, I am interested in majoring in biomedical engineering. UCLA has a good program and I would like to attend. What are my chances of being accepted?

GPA: 4.0

AP: AP psych and calc (5 offered)
-have taken two engineering classes
-all honors

Clubs: NHS (on board next year)
AP club (possible president next year)
Varisty club, stuco

-library volunteer (150 hrs)

-varisty volleyball and golf (two years)

first trumpet

-ACT: 29

Class rank: 2 out of 260

Others: state Future problem solvers (3x)
Science Olympiad

.

With that ACT score, its a reach for now. If you van bump it up to a 32+ then you might stand a shot. ALso, your ECs are a little lackluster.

My thread (chance please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a></p>

Main thing is that 100,000 a year apply to UCLA, double what it used to be… Work on your EC’s a bit, and keep up the rest. Unfortunately with schools that have so many applicants, they rely more on #'s than a holistic approach by necessity.

is 4.0 your unweighted GPA?

Hmm…you need to improve your ACT score and your EC’s are a little on the low end. I’d say that UCLA is a low reach for you.
