I'll keep that in mind. Sorry, for all the questions, but I'm trying to gather, as to what type of school Davis is (considering I can't take a tour). Stereotypically, what do students do on the weekend? What is there to do? Is UC Davis active socially, as well as academically?

I'm fretting so much about being out of state. I discovered on a site that only 500 of the 20,000 undergraduates are out of state. agghhhh....

Don't worry about being out of state - you're a qualified applicant and will have no problems meeting new people if you come here. It feels like everyone is outgoing. As far as the atmosphere here, know that it's the reason I chose UC Davis over other schools. Davis is a true college town - everything runs through here. Without UCD, the city of Davis wouldn't exist. There's a ton of school spirit here and a solid balance of studying and having fun.

Apparently, the UC system is out ot crucify me. I've just spoke to admission officials at various UC schools and they have informed me that they won't admit me as a freshman because I took audit classes after high school. I have to apply as a transfer, which entails taking 60 credits at another college. That seems ridiculous. I took them because I wanted to keep learning and It seems I'm being penalized for initiative. I'm incensed and devastated. Especially, since they are audit non credit classes, which are subject to the whim of the student (they are more like seminars). I'm stubborn though, so I'm going to apply anyway even if I'm rejected by each and every UC. AGGGGGHHHH.....

I think you have a fairly good chance. Typically the UC expects more from out of state applicants. Why are you auditing classes instead of taking them?

I took audit classes for one specific reason: to remain as a freshman applicant. I didn't want to attend another university for two years (sixty credits), which the UC system requires. I just wanted to keep learning during my time off, but not actually receive any credit, so that way I would have no problem applying, as a freshman for the fall 2007 term. Evidently, not the case...

agghhh....sorry for ranting

Just don't include the audited classes on your application. You are out of state, and you did not take the classes for credit. I doubt they would ever know.

I have already told them I have and they record conversations. Plus my rather unique position singles me out, so they would probably know. It's not me anyway, I would feel guitly. Don't ask why.

Whatever dude. I seriously doubt the specific person you talked to would ever touch your particular application. There are thousands of apps that go through.

Oh, well. I'm bummed. I'll probably just go with your advice. I'm just worried it will come back to haunt me.

I'd suggest not to include that information on your app, but if you must then make sure you give your reasoning(which is commendable) in your essays..
