Chance please- freaking out!

Hey guys so I'm a senior at the second best high school in new jersey. last year 31 kids out of 47 got into penn state. however, my gpa is really low- 3.34 weighted and I took two aps and two honors classes over the course of high school. My sats are high- 1320/1920. Do you guys think I have any chance in getting in?

I was also planning to consider summer session and send out my application within the coming weeks. I was also wondering if there's any major that would make me more 'favorable' to the university. Please respond, Penn state is my first choice and basically my dream school!!

lee- I think conventional wisdom is that specifying an undecided major (Department of Undergraduate Studies) gives you a better chance of acceptance than specifying a competitive major like business or engineering. Do you know what you want to study?

Looks like branch, but you never know. Make sure you say you will to summer session. SAT’s are great. GPA is 2/3 of Penn State’s decision, SAT 1/3.

I’m thinking of studying biology but is it a hard major to get into? thanks for all your help!

With your SAT alone you will most likely get into main campus I’m from nj too and my school has about 120 kids expected out of around 140 that apply. I got in last year with a higher gpa but lower SATs.
