If I honestly don’t get into one of those schools listed, I won’t even bother going to college.

& btw, where did you go schmohawk that it is evidently “conceivable” that I won’t make an ivy…

Does anyone think I have any sort of glimmer of hope in applying?

Conceivable. Believable. Possible.

You’d be smart to have some safeties.

I just don’t understand why I wouldn’t get into ANY of the schools? I understand admit rates at most of the schools I applied to are <20%, but I was under the impression that I had a good shot at these schools…I guess not.

You have very good stats- but each of those schools is an independent variable- it’s possible you won’t get in to any- it’s possible you may get in to several.

Out of the schools I applied to, which of the schools would you consider my admission “likely”

or which schools would be “conceivable-ish”

schmohawk—I guess that means none?

any ideas?

bumpp?? 10char

Can someone please help me? I need to get my applications in by tomorrow for guidance!

Okay so it’s not that you’re not a good student and what not, because you obviously are. I think what everyone is trying to tell you is that you need to have more schools that are easier to get into, but that you also love.

What is it that you love about those ivys and top 20 schools (besides the prestige)? Think about where you want to be. Do you want a city, a suburb, a small town? What’s your intended major? Is having a minor program important to you? Do you want to go to grad school after college? If so, look into grad school acceptances, if not, look into job placement.

The important thing is that while it would obviously be amazing to get into an ivy or similar school, and I wouldn’t completely count yourself out of them, you should also apply to a few safeties that you would truly be satisfied attending.

If I were you, I would eliminate around 5 of these prestigious colleges and add 2-3 “safeties.”

That said, I thing that if you have strong essays and interviews that convey some sort of passion, then you have an okay shot at getting into at least one of the schools on your list.
