Rochester REMS
USC Ba/MD

Also University of Washington as a backup, Yale and Hopkins as normal undergrad.

I was hoping to get some input on my chances to these schools (will i at least get an interview?). Also suggestions to programs a I may have missed would be appreciated.

Thanks

Advice - also apply to less competitive combined programs. D. did not get into Case PPSP (graduated #1 from well known private HS, tons of EC’s and one of Case’s coaches was very interested in her, received an awesome Merit package with well over $25,000 / year from Case ). She got into 3 programs at state school, currently junior at one of them (non-accelerated) and is very happy with her choice. She did not apply to any elite colleges.

I agree with MiamiDAP in that if you really care to do an accelerated program then you must apply to less competitive programs. All of the programs that you listed are very competitive and even if you are qualified (which I’d say you are) there is a good chance, because of the unpredicatability, that you will get rejected. Not because you are unqualified but, you know how it is the same with ivys. The rochester program has a 1% acceptance rate for example. I’d say Boston is the only one you have a solid chance at but the rest is up to the board. University of Washington is good back up and for undergrad you have a good shot at Johns Hopkins but not Yale. I would add state programs to the list, University of Miami (DEFINITELY try this), Drexel, George Washington U, RPI w/ Albany medical college, Penn State (DEFINITELY try this (not a in-state program)), University of Pittsburgh, and Temple.

Thank you both. The thing for me is that if I dont get into the competitive programs I will just go to University of Washington as an in state student for very cheap and than get into med school normally. I am not quite interested in settling for less competitive programs with worse med schools, as I am sure that if I go the normal rout I will get into a good one later.
