It will definitely help but is it really worth the time and energy?

I would focus on raising your GPA (a 3.8 UW is great but we’re talking Stanford where there’s no margin for error) and adding a signature EC to the list. You’ve got solid ECs but if we’re talking top 5 you’ve gotta blow 'em away.

Well i wanna get academic team to win the game show this year, that should be something. Or maybe get better at track. I’m pretty good at getting 5’s, so I thought that would be my ace in the hole

In my opinion, if you wanna improve your chances, self-studying for 10 extra AP tests is definitely not the way to go. If anything, that might hurt you - it’ll just seem too forced. There’s no way you’re interested in so many different areas that you’d have to take 20 different AP tests, so it’ll become obvious that you’re just desperately looking for ways to improve your application. Instead, you could focus on prepping for your standardized tests (a 33 is good, but since you’re “good at getting 5’s”, you could probably do better). You should also study for your subject tests, since they are strongly recommended at Stanford, and maybe work on your ECs, as someone else has already mentioned.

Sorry if I sounded full of myself there ivanov. You think it would help If I only do ones I have a reason for an explain it in the application somehow? I’m only doing ones I have some interest in

Fellow Eagle Scout reporting. I hope that makes some kind of impression on them. I sent in my application for class of 2018. Good luck in your next year and a half of school.
