What I have learned during my time on College Confidential is that, in all honesty, people are trying to help you. I wanted to believe that I could get into Grinnell, Haverford, and Middlebury because I had an upward trend in high school. However, I also had a 3.14 GPA, 1270/1930 SAT, and was in the bottom half of my class; I took 1 ap and 1 honors class in high school. I wanted to believe that I could get into these schools so badly, as do some others. So realize that while people may hurt your feelings, they are trying to help you. However, I am not discouraging people to apply to the schools of their dreams. You always have a chance. I am going to CWRU next year as a transfer, and, to me, that is my equivalent to getting into Middlebury. Try your best, but have a few safeties! If I did not have any safeties, I would probably not have been able to transfer to a better school.
Congrats on CWRU! This is a terrific post that many students need to see. Thank you for following up. Also, nicely done, turning setbacks into opportunity. Case is lucky to have you.
@Otterma thanks a lot!
