I'm a senior with a 4.0 weighted, 3.7 unweighted gpa. I'm ranked in the top 1% of my class. My SAT isn't great, 510cr, 690m, 610w. I have few extracurriculars in school, and more extracurriculars outside of school, mostly athletic activities. I've taken the most challenging courses in my school, AP and honors. I have some academic awards. I have well over 100 hours of volunteer work. I was also nominated to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine.

I'm looking to major in athletic training. What are my chances?

While I am not an expert, I knew a girl in the athletic training program...and well, you seem to a much better candidate than she was.

Good luck, if you have any questions about GW let me know..I'm a junior and LOVE it.

What exactly do you love about it? and what do you dislike about it? Is it as preppy as people make it out to seem?

Also, I'm not really big on politics. Will that affect me at all at GW?

Likes:

It is a practical school...yet, to have a class where I ponder the meaning of life
Internships are encouraged (goes with the statement above)
The name
Being in the middle of the city
The people I have met
The dorms are nice
GW doesn't hold you hand (for instance, all my friends had curfews freshmen year and limits on who and when they could have guest over)

Dislikes:

The hospitality concentration within the Business School
The advising program in the Col. School
Not having a car
The vern shuttle at times
Some of the people

There are a lot of really ridiculous, rich kids who spend their summers sailing around the Cape. I don't know, I am from a small, Ohio town. And, some of the people I encounter here, well I wouldn't be able to find people like them within 200 mile radius of my home. I'm mean honestly, some girl in marketing group the other day asked me "Do you remember when you got your first Burberry scarf? I was 15." She acted like it was rite of passage. It was really funny, but I think that is a good summary of some of the people.

However, there are just regular, normal people here. Sometimes, it just takes a bit of work finding them. Luckily, I did, and they are amazing.

I am not really into politics, and I do just fine. As long as you are willing to hear drunken, political debates..you'll be fine.
