Stats:
GPA freshman-junior: Somewhere around a 3.7 unweighted, 3.9 weighted. My school doesn't use a 4.0 gpa scale so I tried my best to convert it myself.
my grades were lowest sophomore year and highest junior is that makes a difference.
3 APs. I believe 13 offered at my school...
English has been all honors. Spanish Honors. History Honors.

SAT: CR:620 M:620 (they don't take writing and subjects, right? cause those were significantly higher for me...)

Extracurriculars:
Competitive gymnastics frosh, soph and junior
Winter and Spring Track soph junior senior
a little YES club- senior
a little Spanish Club frosh-junior
NHS junior senior
volunteered at Hospital- 50+ hours
volunteered for special olympics at my gymnastics place
held summer job between junior and senior

I realize my gpa and tests aren't totally up to par, but that leads to one of my other questions.
I pole vault and am very interested in continuing to pole vault in college. I'm not great, but, from what I found on their site, I am close to being up to the level of their current vaulters. I was wondering if this would help my admissions even though CMC is s DIII school. How much pull would the track coach have?

Also, applying for financial aid doesn't have an affect on your chances, does it?

Because I live on the East Coast, I have not been able to visit.

I think that CM is going to be a big reach for you. Looking at the Common Data Set, CMC lists 3 factors as very important: Rigor of Secondary Record - While I don’t know the profile of your school, taking only 3 out of 13 possible AP classes hurts your position. Standardized Test Scores - Your SATs are below the 25th%-tile for both Math & CR. Extra-curriculars - This is your strong point. GPA is listed as a considered factor so I don’t think it hurts or helps you too much.

I’d contact the track coach immediately. I have no idea how much sway he does or doesn’t have with the admissions office, but it can’t hurt to call. Good luck.

thank you for the reply, vinceh!
for more info: I am at a public high school, but one of the top in NJ.
I am contacting the track and field coach as soon as I can.

Also, how much would applying EDII help me? cause I’m reading on here that they are getting many more applicants this year…

So, I am almost definitely applying ED 2. I’m still wondering how much that would help me.
Just wondering, though, what are your thoughts on applying binding without seeing the school? (I do really like Southern California though). Would this possibly make up for not being able to visit?

And I talked to the track coach and she said she would write me a letter of recommendation. How much would this help me?

I am also sending my SAT II US H score which was a 780. will they look at this? and will it help me? My writing scores for the SAT are also being sent. I had a 740 on this. Again, will they look at it and could it help me at all?
