chances (and scholarships?)

i just visited the school, and was surprised to really love it a lot more than i thought i would. i adore the campus.

gpa
3.8-ish maybe unweighted? unweighted isn't on the transcript.
4.02 weighted.
but the school says they reweight it with .5 for honors, and i redid it real quickly and i'm pretty sure it's a 4.12.

sats
first time cr 610 m 640 w 790 essay 10
second time cr 640 m 720 w 780 essay 10
so essentially, 1360 or 2150

satii's (not sure if they look)
chem 630
math 2 690
spanish 560

AP tests (no idea if it plays a role in admissions)
calc AB 5
physics C: N/M 4
english lang 4
(taking three more APs senior year)

jazz ensemble 9th grade
10th grade i tutored a kid in math a few hours a week for pay
11th grade i did spanish national honors society, will do it again 12th grade
held a job working 15-25 hours per week in 11th grade, had to quit for summer, but will take it up again senior year
national merit commended student
(yeah, not really big on extracurriculars)

prospective math major/computer science minor, something along those lines. not the engineering school.

thanks guys :)

In my opinion, your ECs need some work. Also, I'm not sure if they count for much, but if they do, your SAT IIs need to come up. The only reason people take certain subjects for SAT IIs is because they are already good at them, so the scores are higher. A 700 in Math Level 2 is not actually a good score, it is kinda low. Try retaking them if you can. I got similar scores as you in Chem and Math 2, so I retook them and did much better.

oh, i'm aware that they're low. the test format kinda surprised me. like, i basically took the math test too slow. retaking.
but anyway.. it's not like they're required.. so wouldn't it just be extra anyway?

also, aware of the extracurricular issue, but i mean, it's not changing.

what would you say my chances are with my current stats?

My roommate does recruit work for a sports team... she seems to think your scores are a good match for NU. But I'll relay the info she tells her recruits who don't have great stats:

A) Apply to a less competitive major.
B) Do NOT apply as undecided. The school only has so many spots in each major, and there are only 200 undecided spots.
C) Show interest in the school
D) Apply EA

thanks :)

i'm applying to math probably (definitely not applying undecided), have visited, am on the mailing list, and am applying early action. :)
