UCs cannot practice AA. So race is not a factor here.

The SAT scores are way too low to consider admission to Cal or LA. ECs are very standard, APs aren't that great. The high GPA and rank contrast with the low standardized test scores and make your school look very easy. Ask your counselor about your school's history with Cal and LA. If you're planning to major in Physics, then you really need to take the SAT II Physics and score better on the Math sections of the SAT tests. You can make race an issue, but California has plenty of Mexican Americans, and in order for any sort of race-weighing to take place, you need to have at least average stats. Race is never a deciding factor; just a tipping one. Both LA and Berkeley are high reaches - I'd look at UCR or UCI or the Cal-States.

It sounds like you already got into Berkeley this year. I think you've posted that you applied to Stanfurd Early Action and got rejected, and that you've decided to come to Berkeley. As a fellow Berkeley student, I congratulate you, but you should not be toying with other CCer's and wasting all our times evaluating your profiles once, twice, and three times over. Yes, your statistics are low and they do stike down ebonytear's misconceptions about the UC admissions process, but other than that there is no reason for you to be doing this over and over again. You should be proud of your acceptance, but don't rub it in- the last thing you'd want to do is make our school and its students look bad. Geez....
