My choices: (in order of preference)

UCSD

UCSB, Cal Poly SLO

Cal Poly Pomona <-- cheaper price caused me to bump it up

UCI

I was also persuaded by a friend of mine to apply to UCLA and UCB as well, because of the randomness of selections nowadays. I seriously don't think I have much of a chance at UCB, seeing as not many people from my GPA category (3.7-3.99) made it in.

EDIT: Crap, gotta get the UC apps in soon....... the site is extremely crazy on the last couple days before deadline.

yea...seriously, it's the 27th today...3 more days!! i already got mine in like a week ago or something...i didn't really care about...well, i guess i just started early on those applications so when i finished, i just sent them in (i looked over them 1000000 times and it looked right to me) the only thing that i regretted was that i didn't put down any scholarships...i was kinda confused about those other scholarships, i could've put down all 16 of them (because my friends told me there are so many asian scholarships) but anyways, oh well...at least i'm still applying to the UC ones...

I'm not even sure if you can "re-apply" for them after you are accepted, as apparently you can only apply for them during the filing period (Nov. 1-30).

Well, what really boils my blood is that the UCs are trying to put a quota on Asians..... specifically Cantonese-speaking Chinese folk.

lol polarman, i feel ya brother.

At least asians are a minority at cal poly slo; hence, you'll have an advantage there.

On a more serious note... down with the UC's!!!

ohh yea...that sucks...cantonese-speaking people are too smart lol

hey are you all cantonese??

edit why am i so stupid? lol of course you are...lol anyways, where do you all live?

I'm half Cantonese. 我可以講廣東話相當好..

And I live in SoCal, Inland Empire

hahaha cool! i can speak cantonese fluently too...lol because it's my first language...i live in the bay area, near s.f. kinda..

too bad i couldn't type chinese on here...don't have that program anymore...

.......
care to explain why?

BUMP :D Didn't feel like starting a new thread.

Anyhoo, I got my December SAT results and it shot up to 1300 (630V, 670M). Does CPSLO still consider December SAT scores even though their website doesn't officially say so?

i don't know, but i got in with a pretty low score...so i guess as long as your GPA and test scores balance, it's okay..

Phoenixmemori: if you don't mind sharing, what were your stats for SLO?

and for what major?

i think it was posted earlier in the thread that she scored a 23 on the ACT (equivalent to an SAT score of 1070). not sure on her gpa, but she signed up for materials engineering.

lol yea polarman's right. my stats are...

GPA: 4.25 (the application kinda auto-calculated the GPA when you put down your courses and grades)
ACT: 23
i didn't have much extracurricular activities, but they weren't very specific about those either, so i guess it's okay
Major: materials engineering
i have some extra courses that i've taken, so basically i've exceed/met some of the requirements for this major...basically that's it..

bump..........
