Chances at ED 2015 for the College?

Applying to the College of Arts and Sciences at UPenn ED and I'm wondering if I have a chance at getting in:

SAT I: 2240
Writing - 750
Math - 800
CR - 690

I'm going to take the SAT I again on 10/9 and hopefully score over 2250, preferably 2280 or higher.

SAT IIs:
800 Math II
790 Chem
720 US History

GPA: possibly around 100.0 weighted, unweighted probably 97
Class Rank: 15/300

Course Load: most difficult courses offered, pursuing the IB diploma. Senior course load is: IB English, IB Spanish, IB Chem, IB Math, IB Theory of Knowledge, AP Physics C, and Orchestra, with all IB courses being HL.

AP scores:
5 on AP USH
5 on AP Physics B
5 on AP Psychology

IB scores:
5 on Econ SL
5 on Psych SL

EC's:

Academic Accomplishments:
President of school National Honor Society
AIME qualifier
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
AP Scholar

Essays:
Should be alright...

Teacher recs:
Pretty good, on good terms with one and great terms with another. Don't really know the counselor too well though...so I guess recs would be average.

School is public.
I'm Asian.
And I'm male.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Good test grades, pretty solid achievements and ECs, but I don't have a good class rank and my resume is rather typical.

Chances? Thanks for reading!! :D

15/300 is not bad. What Major are you doing?? Your stats are with most of the people, but Idk I see similar stats with a 2400 or 2350+ doing ED and they get rejected even being an all rounder student. Its all luck, and ED wont really increase your chances that much because the stats who apply ED is much higher so it cancels out with the higher % accepted.

WHY THE F**K ARE YOU TAKING THE SAT’S AGAIN TO GET A 2280 WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE A 2240??!! you know it’s not going to affect your chances of admissions

Taking the SATs again was not really a personal decision, more in line with classic Asian OCD. The thing is that taking them again can’t possibly hurt my chances because chances are I won’t get significantly lower, and my CR section was far less than exemplary.
Thank you xFocus for your input…I do realize that my stats are not unique in the least as I have no outstanding awards and no truly admirable leadership positions…in the end it’s a very formulaic and traditional ivy league application. Let’s just hope the admissions officers are in a good mood
Ohh and I plan to do a chem major with a minor in psychology of possible.

Your composite SAT is enviable, but I’d say retake the SATs & aim for a high CR. It looks weak next to your other scores. Also, you have nice ECs, but don’t seem too focused on one thing. Your success in each of them, however, show how well you can balance multiple sports, clubs & volunteer activities with a 97 UWGPA.

My advice is, as stated above, to retake the SATs in hopes for a high CR. Maybe try the ACT because some people find the ACT english/writing to be much easier than SAT & do much better, & of course, vice versa.

Oh, and don’t make those essays “alright”! If you’re applying to UPenn ED, you are literally binding yourself to them. Show how much you love UPenn, etc. Make those essays AMAZING.

Ahh yes I’m taking the SATs again primarily because of my relatively low CR score in hopes it’ll increase haha
I don’t think I have the time to prepare and take the ACT before the ED deadline…do I?
And yeah I’m definitely going to put all my effort into making my essays amazing - after all they can make all the difference…

Thanks for your feedback! Anyone else? :)
