Chances at Ivies and more

Hey I've got one year left before it's set in stone since I'm a junior this year, but I expect my grades to be the same or a bit better. And I've got the SAT taken care of.

So, I was wondering my current chances at a few colleges I've looked into somewhat. Also, feel free to suggest colleges that may better suit me that I haven't thought of.

GPA:

9th: 3.75
10th: 3.75
11th: too soon to tell.
Cumulative: 3.75uw, 4.5w.
SAT I: 2340, 750CR/800M/790W.

APs: Pyschology 5.

Classes/AP Tests for this year: AP US History, AP English Composition, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Music Theory, Honors Physics.

Senior year: AP Economics, AP Spanish Language, AP Literature, AP Biology, AP Physics, Theater, and whatever else I need to graduate.

Graduating under school's Honors Program.

ECs:

Mu Alpha Theta: 10-12.
Math UIL: 10-12. Possibly going to hold a leadership position.
Science UIL: 10-12.
Habitat for Humanity: 10-12.
Volunteering at church's homeless shelter: a few hundred hours by senior year, about 80 so far.
Hospital Volunteering: Going to start, hope to do a lot.
Talent show participation: Freshman year there were no awards, sopohomore year I won, waiting for this year.

My ECs are crap because my old school had no clubs, it was really crappy. So 10-12 is the best dedication I can show. And I'll probably win some stuff in math UIL as math is my bag baby.

Intended major: Something science related. Thinking of going to medical school so possibly Biology.

Essays: I have a lot of resources for very good help, so I think they should be good. I've been known to turn out an awesome essay in ten minutes typing, with no errors at all. Of course I'll spend ample time on my college essay, making sure it is even better.

Recs: Counselor loves me; I've formed great relationships with all my math and science teachers, and one English teacher. I'll probably end up picking the English teacher, and one of each from math and science depending on how many I need. I actually have a history teacher that I formed a good bond with, so any rec I need I can get for the sake of well roundedness.

Colleges: Tell me which one is a good bet for ED especially.

Brown
Dartmouth
Cornell (one of the last three ED)
Emory
Vanderbilt
Amherst
Tulane
Reed
Austin College (full ride potential there)
Case Western Reserve University.

NOTE: I've just recently began looking into LACs, so I do realize that there is a huge difference between a big Ivy like Brown or Cornell, and say Austin College (like 2000 students.)

Thank y'all (j/k) very much for your time, and I hope this all turns out and I end up somewhere I want to be.

I know somebody's got an opinion.

Twenty eight of you! Looking at it and not replying. Come on people now....

I'd say Dartmouth ED for you if you're interested in something science-related. Overall here are your chances:

Brown, Amherst, Dartmouth: Slight-high Reaches

Cornell, Reed, Emory, Vanderbilt: Matches

Case: Good chances, better than a safety school

Austin, Tulane: Safeties

Thanks. Would any of the reaches change to matches if I applied ED?

I think you'd probably have a fair chance at Dartmouth ED. You'd be looking closer to 40-50% chance. I'd say to make sure you do well on SAT II's (and take Science ones), get 4s and 5s on your APs and make sure to join Science clubs. Try to become the president of one of them by the time you apply. You'd definetely have a very good shot at getting in because your GPA and SAT Scores are outstanding.

How bout Cornell ED? Give me a percentage there?

Thanks dude, you're extremely helpful.

Hello???????

alrite...i agre that Brown and Dartmouth are slight-high reaches

Cornell is much harder to getinto Reed, Emory, and Vanderbilt.

it is the same level as like a Northwestern and Johns Hopkins.

If your Hispanic(the thread inplies you are) you have an excellent shot at any school you apply to

URM + 2300+ is gold

Dude read the parenthetical info. I was just in a Spanish mood.

I'm Italian, too bad that counts as white.

Hello?????????????

Hello??????????? Again.

Chill your ****.

I think you'd have good chances applying ED to anywhere. If you went ED to Cornell I'd put favorable odds you get in.

Thanks dude. So Cornell is like 60% ED?

Anybody else?

Thank you moderators! The spanish title was a bad idea, didn't realize it would make people think I was Hispanic.

I'm white and wealthy, no college is going to look at my heritage and care.

Honestly, if you're asking where you should apply ED, you probably shouldn't be applying ED at all. The point is to know where you want to spend the next four years of your life, not to have to ask people to figure it out for you.

Well if I don't know where I'm "dying" to go, then applying ED can be used as more of a strategy than a truth.

I understand what you mean though, thanks for the imput.

Anyone else have thoughts on my chances?

Case is def. a safety. Just make sure you submit your application ASAP for the most amount of money. As for the other schools, you have a good chance, but i really don't know what I'm talking about. 100% sure that Case is no sweat though.
