Chances at Ivies + CalTech + MIT

GPA: 83.11

SAT: 800 Critical Reading, 800 Math, 800 Writing

SAT II's: 800 Physics, 800 Biology, 800 Chemistry, 800 Spanish, 800 French, 760 Hebrew, 800 Math Level 2, 700 Math Level 1, 780 US History, 600 World History, 800 Lit

APs: 13 5's; 1 4

Alot of National Recognition/Awards, AIME/USAMO/Physics and Chemistry Olympiad

Applying to:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
CalTech
MIT

Why did you take so many SAT-II's?

Anyway, your chances are as good as anyone's, but you don't have a single safety on there. You're playing a dangerous game, regardless of how stellar your test scores are.

I don't think I believe you. I have a hard time believing that you A) took that many SAT IIs, and B) got a 700 on math level 1, but an 800 on Math Level II, as well as the Math portion of the SAT

Furthermore, how can you possibly have a gpa of 83.11(i.e, very low), and get 5's on the 13 AP tests, and a 4?

I'm thinking this is BS

I might throw in an application for UPenn (slightly close to safety).

With my SAT 1/2, combined for 10 800s. The 700 I received on the Math Level 1 was taken in 9th grade, as was my extremely low Global Score. But they should be overlooked, same with the 83 average.

And I assume CalTech/MIT to be safeties due to my history on AIME/USAMO

Well, you assumed wrong. Those are safeties for nobody.

The 83 is unweighted. Weighted is about a 90.

They're still not safeties. They're not safeties for ANYONE. What part of that do you not understand?

Look, I'm not trying to grill you (my GPA's a 3.0 out of 5.0), but you're not being very realistic. Don't come crying to us when springtime rolls around and you're denied everywhere - it happens to people with all sorts of test scores, accomplishments and GPA's.

You dont think I will make one of these?
hahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

Yes, and your previous post proves exactly why - I sensed a large amount of immaturity. Adcoms aren't idiots.

Immaturity? Yes
Proven success based on SAT 2's? Yes

Don't try to play that game with me - either tell me my chances or get out of my thread

Did someone say troll?

I did tell you your chances, but you then proceeded to insist that these schools will overlook your GPA and that MIT and Caltech are safeties. It is my duty on CC to correct the misguided. MIT and Caltech as safeties...are you even living on the same planet?

Hhaha, I love this kid.

Hell, let's pretend that you did actually score that well on all those SAT II's(which I still don't believe, mind you), all that really tells me is that you are a complete and total ****ing loser. Who the hell really takes 10 SAT IIs? I mean seriously, even kids at MIT would laugh at you, because that's pathetic.

Have fun getting laid in college pal, girls are going to go crazy for your 800 on the physics SAT II. I swear, they will just salivate for it.

Troll?
What the hell planet are you living on?
That's probly a CC term for those who post on this day 227 times...

edit- spaceball i am curious please disclose ur stats if u wanna diss others
and some like physics I did zero studying for, science comes naturally to me.

If you haven't noticed yet (and I'll assume you haven't, considering the fact that you have posted 6 times), CC is a place to receive unbiased feedback from strangers, regardless of their test scores, GPA, age, etc. If we all accepted feedback only from valedictorians who've done 5000 hours of research at Princeton, none of us would receive any honest feedback about our chances of admission. If you don't want our advice, don't ask. We gave you our advice, you chose to be combative, so now you're resorting to asking other people about their stats because you have no other way to defend your juvenile actions.

Would you like to start over? I'm giving you a free pass here.

I have no problem saying that my stats are far worse than you. I got a 2080 on the SAT, and my SAT II scores were in the high 500s and low 600s. My UW GPA was pretty good(3.8, so essentially an A- average. School doesn't weight, but it would be well above 4.0 if they did, I do very well in my honors/AP classes.) My EC's were awesome, and my recs were great.

You can search my name on here if you want to see all the nitty gritty stuff. But I got accepted to my number 1 school, Carleton College, and I will be attending there, so in all honesty, I don't think any insults you heave my way will have much affect. Not that they actually would, because this is a message board, and nothing like this would ever really get me that angry.

So, go ahead, keep bragging about your abundance of SAT scores, go right ahead. Please, do it.

Oh, and btw, it's idiotic to claim that you simply "knew" physics. Yes, you were born knowing kinematic equations and Newton's laws. :eyeroll:

Spaceball is acceptable bc my cousin attends Carleton and LOVES IT.

However, sous is so bad its not even funny
I knew Newton's laws since I was in 6th grade...what is your point?

If you are joking... then just ignore my post. Because you are not gonna like what i have to say.

If you are'nt, then you need to seriously look at other schools. I am not saying that you wont get into an Ivy or MIT or CalTech. I am just saying that if you are considering CalTech a safety, you are in VERY big trouble. I don't want to see anybody fail, no matter how rude they may be. I urge you to apply to more safety schools. Your test-taking skills are great, your GPA...not so great. I can relate, i don't have the best GPA in the world either. The only difference between me and you (besides ur slew of 800's) is that i have a more realistic list than you do. I urge you to at least consider what CC is telling you. Only trying to help!

Thank you doctor that is the first helpful post of the night.

I added Michigan, by the way

with USAMO, you'll definitely have a good shot at CIT/MIT...less of a chance at HYp, but still great nonetheless as long as your essays/ECs are good
