haha
for community college u don't have to have SAT or GPA, you just walk in and say I wanna go here :D

Get over yourself.

dude, youre in. dont worry about it, get off CC, and go take some more APs.

Well, I'm just assuming that the stats are true...

High numbers are NOT the only factors involved in a decision. Certainly you have great numbers, but the admission officers from the schools that you applied to once said, "there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING so stellar about the numbers that forces us to accept a candidate, because all of our candidates have the basic numbers that we look for. what we really want to see is what the candidate is like in person, how the candidate will fit into our 'picture',..."

With that being said, I think that your chances of admission boils down to your essays, recommendations, interviews (if applicable), etc. Your ECs, in my opinion, are considered a part of the numbers, not a part of the personals. Your chances of admission rests on what you've put on your application - did you tell them that you were just more than numbers on the paper? If you didn't, there's not much hope.

Man I like your attitude don't worry I think you will get into one top ten school (UPenn)

colleges are not going to like that 83 and if you don't get into your top choice, its because of that. I'd apply to a safety school because as of right now most of these, if not all, are reach schools. I'd say somewhere like NYU, Tufts, or Carnegie Mellon. Your admittance even into these "safety" schools is hard to predict because most colleges won't like the stark contrast between your gpa and sat scores(even though its unbelievable how you got 10 800s). anyways, Good LUCK!

I agree with psychotickevin (why are you guys acting as though the OP weren't a troll?).

Just to update everyone: I added Carnegie Melon (like you guys suggested) and I added Duke...I am thrilled to report that Carnegie Melon gave me a recruitment phone call (they have the same chances of snagging me as I do of catching the Loch Ness Monster) and Duke sent me a likely letter (one of their top 250 recruits)...I guess I would settle for Duke, but I really wanted to go to a decent school, not one of those second tier types (especially one in the South- its like they are still living in the 18th century down there). On the other hand, I am expecting to hear back from Harvard/Princeton/Yale/CalTech/MIT and I don't think it will be hard for me to make all 5. If I get rejected by any of them it would be a joke...

Dude... its not always about test scores and stuff. But i think youll get in anyway because youre a smart guy

This guy's overconfidence is unbelievable. Hopefully, the Ivies will reject him and teach him a real lesson....one that an SAT test can't!

You got to get over the fact that they look for lots more than just a person who's academically perfect. There has been cases where people like you have been rejected.

The second tier colleges - I'd agree, no problem. Thank god you bothered to apply for a couple of them. Though, when Duke simply says "likely", that's a warning sign already.

They look at you as a person in whole. Generally, they look for people who are likely to succeed in the future. Pure academics just tells them that all you do is study, which by itself is useless.

You might have a chance at MIT and CalTech, but they seem 50/50 to me. As for HYP - wait for your ego to be crushed.

alrite, obviously this guy's making this stuff up. No way would a guy take 10 SAT II's. What would be the point? To have fun?

Besides, no one can be this arrogant unless they're joking, which is what i think. Just end this thread now.

i agree, this thread is definitely entertaining...

uh, i really don't know if you're going to get in or not, class rank/gpa usually matter more than SAT scores because you can study for those like once and memorize the format or something... having a high gpa/class rank shows consistency in effort and dedication

on the other hand, 13 5's and 10 800's... wow... can you teach me.. lol jk

yeah ur definately not a safety for MIT/caltech

all are reaches
and MIT Caltech are high matches
Theyll see ur sat's and be like "whoa this guy is pretty smart,"
and theyll see ur grades and be like "whoa, this guy's freakin lazy"

either way
i hope they reject you

after reading the first 2 pages of this read, ive come to realize that you are the most immature poster in the history of CC

wait

i take all i said back...

But ill leave it at this

you are the dumbest person ever

i can bet my life that you are not gettin into HYP
and
that u are retarted for saying Duke is second rate...

Ur talking about a univeristy known all around the world, that just so happens to be ranked number 9 on usnews.com

and
Ur fat

there it is, i said it.

Ur fat and i dont like you.

(i sure hope i dont get modded)

I think it makes perfect sense that you could get a lower score on the SAT 2 Math 1 than on the Math 2. First of all, the curve on the Math 1 is ridiculous, and you usually take it when you are 1.) Younger and less used to standardized tests, and 2.) at a lower level of math, meaning less math experience.

Why the heck is everyone being so harsh? If you compare this to the Jian Li debacle, then yes, he has a legitimate reason to know if he needs more than just stellar board scores and a good GPA.

Just chill out people, wow, I am never looking at chances threads again.

I think you'll get in- looks good to me tokyo- they need to chill is right!

tokyorevolution and hedoya, I hope you two noticed Redbirdz's offensive attitude and unwholesome personality..

Because it would be hard to chill if Redbirdz is being "genuine" in his beliefs.

confusion about the gpa and sat mismatch....explain.
