chances at (mostly) southern schools?

Cumulative GPA - 3.7/4.0

Come from a smaller, private school near Boston MA.

Haven't taken SATs yet, but PSATS:
Math- 61
CR- 60
Writing- 60
I'll be getting a tutor for the SATs so I'm hoping I'd be able to get somewhere in the 1950-2100 range. I'll probably end up taking it 3 times...

I won't list the ECs...but I've done a decent amount of community service, had summer jobs, am involved in a couple school clubs

I run cross country and row crew at school...but sailing is my passion. I travel around for different regattas...I do well in Massachusetts sailing regattas but I do mediocre in the bigger international regattas. I'll contact the coaches at whatever schools on my list to boost my chances.

So here are some schools I'm considering:
University of Miami
Vanderbilt
Tulane
College of Charleston
Emory
St. Mary's College of Maryland
Duke
Boston College
Dartmouth (I have strong connections at BC and Dartmouth)
Wake Forest
NYU
UNC Chapel Hill

Do you think that would be a good list to start with? Which do you think are the safer bets, if any, out of those schools.. and which ones would be reaches?

Feel free to suggest any other schools you think I might be interested in. I'm mostly looking to get out of New England.

Thanks

It's a good list to start with, but you might want to add a DEFINITE safety to your list in your nearby area (I would suggest UMass Amherst, but it could be any easy-to-get into public school.)

St. Mary's, College of Charleston, University of Miami and Tulane are better chances than Vandy, Emory, Duke, NYU, and others.

Have you considered any colleges in Cali? If you just want to get out of the Northeast and want to attend a fairly decent college, try U Michigan. It has about a 50% acceptance rate, so it's not impossible to get into, but it has a TON of good programs.
