<p>how the hell is that offensive? Negro is the correct name used for an African-American. Although he is not African-America, he is just using the name. Idk where you are from, but here on the east coast we call everybody negro, its like slang. If he used the other n-word, then I would certainly agree with you and tell him to change it, because that does in fact have a deragatory meaning.</p>

<p>where the hell are you from, im from massachusetts which last time I checked was on the east coast, and I go to a school with the METCO program busing nearly 200 african americans each day to our school, if someone was caught calling a black person a negro they would most likely be punished, if not by the school, then by the person who they are refering to.</p>
