Chances at UCs, and privates (avg. courses, no work exp)

Hi, everyone! :) I'm new here, I was wondering if anybody could help me out. I'd appreciate it.

Schools I will probably apply to:
UCLA
UCB
UCD
UCI
Scripps (one of the Claremont Colleges)
Cornell
(Safe school: Cal State Long Beach)

(If it's any help, I have 3 cousins at UCLA and 1 at Cornell pursuing a Master's Degree in International Law)

Interest field of study: history, science, psychology, or dance. Currently undecided.

In addition, I think I can get some good teacher recommendations for my speech/english and dance teachers.

No work experience yet: Reason? Visit my family/relatives in Thailand every summer since I've been here in 7th grade. This year, I have to take care of my sick grandma 24/7, my dad can't afford a nurse. (ok reason..?)

So, if anyone could help me out, thanks a lot :D

UCB, LA and Cornell are huge reaches. The others are matches.

Your AI score is 191, which is a CRS score of 2 out of 9. This means that out of all the people who apply to Cornell this year, about 77% to 88% will have better grades and test scores than you and 12% to 23% will have worse grades and test scores. Since Cornell admitted about 30% of applicants, you are a real reach to get in there.

As far as the UCs, your UC GPA is 4.00 exactly (unless that Geometry course counts as an honors course for UC purposes--go to the link on the UCOP site to find out). If it counts, then your UC GPA is 4.10

Average grades and test scores at the undergraduate UC campuses last year:
http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2006/freshman_admit_profile_2006.pdf

UC Berkeley--4.17 and 2007
UCLA--4.12 and 2003
UCSD--4.04 and 1928
UCSB--3.90 and 1842
UCI--3.89 and 1849
UCD--3.84 and 1824
UCSC--3.67 and 1759
UCR--3.59 and 1674
UCM--3.58 and 1668
University-wide (all campuses)--3.78 and 1784

Thus you can see why you are a reach at UC Berkeley and UCLA, a match to slight reach at UCSD, a match at UCSB, UCI, and UCD, and a safe match at UCSC, and a safety at UCR and UCM.

In the end, a lot depends on your passion, your essays, the major you intend to pursue, and where you really want to go. All of the UCs are good schools--so pick the one that's right for you.

P.S. I don't have the data on Scripps available right now, but I think it's a match.

ForeverA:

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCI/UCD: Match
