My guidance counselor pretty much told me I have no shot of getting in, but I am not so sure how accurate her advice actually is. If anyone could respond with their opinion that would be awesome thanks.

Don't listen to your guidance counselor, I think you've got a 80% chance or so of getting in. You're very well rounded which is what UF wants to see. I think if you don't get in, it'd be a shocker...especially since you're in-state.

I'd say you have a "good" chance for acceptance...but not 80%. 6 AP classes is a little above average, so that will help you. I do agree your counselor is off-base in saying "no chance".

You applied for ED and summer session?
I'd say you're 75% in. My friend did know someone who didn't get in because of their essays, though. Weird, right?

I wouldn't worry about it
Since you've taken 6 AP classes, you have a better chance than the majority of people applying. UF doesn't accept too many who have <6.

Your GPA and SAT scores are a little low for UF, but I had a friend who got in there with a 1050.

I would say you have a good shot. Their admissions are really screwy, I can tell you that, but I would say the 80% chance is pretty accurate. I've had friends who had 1390 and got rejected and known kids with 1060 who got in. (Plus, people have said in the past that they don't even bother to read the essays, just see if the person did them.) Really though, I wouldn't be too worried.
