Chances at UVA, Va Tech, NC State, ODU

I am getting my degree from a virginia community college in VA and i want to transfer. I have a 3.3 GPA and I have only had one C since I have been there. I have taken lots of Math and English courses and I want to major in environmental science. Do i have a chance at UVA, Tech, NC state, and ODU. I should get into ODU and i have Alumni at NC State. what do you guys think?

can anybody please offer any insight?

Hi big packfan. I was also at CC (NOVA). My gpa was a little bit higher than yours (3.6) and by the time I applied to schools to transfer out I had 63 credit hours. I applied to UVA as a spring transfer and I was rejected which is why I'll be at GMU this spring. I hope you have better luck! I know that UVA accepts a lot more people in the fall. =)

I will have close to 70 credit hours and i will be graduating with an associates degree from CVCC. I hope that I get, if not i guess i will have to settle for Tech. I personally am hoping but I think i should get into tech.

Why don't you hedge your bets and apply to William and Mary as well? They have a good environmental science program through interdisciplanary studies.

I would have applied there except for the fact that they tell you, to be competitive, you need to have a 3.7 GPA or higher. UVA has told me that I have a shot at getting in.

i too, am applying to uva for fall semester. currently, i attend virginia military institute in my first year with a 3.3. i heard vmi will give me a boost in being able to get accepted with all the physical activities and academics i go through as a first year..good luck to you guys

Im not applying to uva but I am applying to tech. What kind of stats do you think I need as a sophmore transfer to tech?

I am also apply there but as a junior transfer. I should be able to get in with a 3.3 for enviromental science. are you applying as undecided or have you picked something? I would say a 3.4 or 3.5 is what it will take for business or engineering there but who really knows.

Im applying as an english major.

you have a good chance then. Business and Engineering are the ones that are the hardest. I know a guy who got into engineering that only had a 3.4 at CC.
