Chances at UW - low gpa

Hello, I was wondering what my chances for admission at UW is.
My GPA is bad - unweighted cume 3.1. I have a stark upward trend. My test score is a 29, I take very rigorous courses (7 APs in total after HS, 3 junior year 4 senior year). I’ve done a lot of service in my community, founded a club for students of color & LGBTQ students last year (this first of its kind at my school), and what I’m banking on the most is debate. I’ve done debate throughout high school and have ranked in the top ten nationally, receiving awards and accolades from schools like University of Michigan and George Mason. The explanation I gave on my apps was mostly that, debate showed me my capabilities intellectually & that’s when I got it together & my grades began to soar.

Obviously I’m still very low with my GPA. UW is my dream school though, so I’m wondering if I have any small shot whatsoever?

And I’m out of state. Only colleges I’ve heard back from thus far are DePaul (70% acceptance), Loyola Chicago (63% acceptance, dean’s scholarship). Both were without essays, and I wrote three for UW.

I also studied at Dartmouth, Wake Forest, and Gonzaga for 5 weeks for debate camp. My essays were about how I changed a skort policy at my school that was misogynist, founding the club I spoke about, and why I want to be at UW for its poly sci department, how I know a lot already from debate. I think they were pretty good. I also was in a religious club (Catholic school) at my school that does campus outreach, and in theatre (backstage stuff). I was also captain of my debate team. I got film student of the year too lmao.

Everything is amazing but the GPA, but I honestly think you should be OK. You have much success in your field and your pursuits are very unique. These are good because UW values diversity.

Thanks so much!
