Chances at Virginia schools?

Here are my stats:

White. I live in Northern Virginia, I have around 3.75 GPA (rated 17/226),
1400 combined SAT (680m,720v), National Merit Commended Scholar,
President NHS, President French NHS, played lacrosse since 4th grade,
played travel hockey forever, I'm also taking 5 AP classes this year, 10 total.</p>

Applying ED to UVA. What do you think my chances are there, or at Virginia Tech, JMU, William & Mary, or any other Virginia school?

Thanks

I think you've got a great chance, plain and simple. What part of NOVA? I don't really know your school, but I know if you were from mine your chances would be somewhere between 80% and autoadmit.

You have a 99% chance at JMU, VT, VCU, and U of Richmond.
I do believe UVA and W a M are quite the same admission type, but one is a quite smaller school from the other.
I am currently applying to UVA ED. Good Luck.

I'm in Fairfax County. Not at TJHSST though, if that is where you went. My brother went there and I know half that school goes to UVA.

Flip360 good luck to you too.

hey,
I'm from the same school as raider17, and my stats are:
3.804 gpa/4.0
class rank: 12/266
1190 combined SAT (650M540V)
Pakistani
member of NHS and FBLA, going to join FHS soon
played lacrosse in 11th grade, band from 5th-11th grade, marching band for 3 years
taking 4 AP classes this year, 8 total

What are my chances at VTech, UVA, GMU, and other VA schools? Applying ED for VTech, too

edit: and could you also tell me some good engineering colleges in VA please? Thanks in advanced.
edit 2: 12/266**

Took the SAT IIs too, scores sucked. 660 Math 2, 640 Writing, 740 US hisory. How much can these hurt my chances.

oh yea, this might be a stupid questions with my stats compared to the people here, but what are my chances for the ivy league colleges like mit, princeton, etc.?

bump please?

Raider, you're in dont worry about it :)
Soshamim, I hate to say it, but I'd say about 1%-5% with that SAT score.

oh well, was worth the shot to ask, but what about the colleges in Virginia? What do you think would be considered as a reach school for me?

You will be in at uva if you write good essays and good recs.. going by the people that got in from my school last year. but that might be just from quotas... not sure... but you definately stand a good shot. no school in VA is a reach.

I thought quotas were illegal?

Yeah, essays are supposed to be really important at UVA. Applicants do have a much better chance if they come from the more rural parts of VA. Sucks for me.

im trying to get to UVa... maybe ill see you there.

i have a 1240 on the test, and many ppl said that is fine for UVa, even out of staters... because I have millions of other things that will get me in, but i am going for a 1350+ in December

Not applying early then?

Bah, all you lucky people living in Virginia. I'm gonna be counted international. :P

I just submitted my ED application to UVa. crosses fingers

Raider17, you have a more than decent chance of getting into UVa. Good luck with that. :)

That 60 something % accepted in-state is pretty sweet.

got a question about ec's, is concert/wind ensemble band considered an ec, even though it was taken as a class for 3 years?

im out of state, but live east coast... UVa -> Harvard grad is my plan...

UVa is slick... CVille is hoppin'

amnesia: what's the other stuff you're banking on?

And gah I shall go crazy waiting this month of November. :(
