chances at Yale, Duke, GW fast track med, Brown, UF

I was just wondering what any of you all thought are my chances for getting into...

Yale
Duke
GW fast track med, or any other fast track
Brown
UF (safety school probably)

My test scores so far are:

ACT: 32
SAT: haven't taken yet, PSAT 210 selection index

APs: gotten two 4s in AP Psych and Euro, but will probably get 5s in the rest I take this year and next year

class rank: IB program at my school doesn't have class rank, just percentages... top 1%.

Extracurriculars/ Awards: academic team/ knowledge master open, mock trial (our team has won locally the past 2 years and I received outstanding witness at local and regional competitions), Youth in Government (2 years at CONA so far and outstanding speaker for junior class), SGA rep, national merit (not sure what, yet), spanish club (officer), optimist essay contest winner, 2 summers of medical research (one at uf, one maybe at NIH this summer, or fsu honors program), a 2 week internship at a senator's office, girls' state, varsity volleybll 1 yr (was also the jv captain), yale book award winner (by default, have no idea if that means anything at all), membership in honors societies

I also volunteer at the children's extended care center and speak spanish to the hispanic patients, as well as help my teacher with spanish adult education classes.

Also, any recommendations you can give me of activities to do before next fall? Thanks for all of your feedback!

Great chance at all of your schools...good luck!

Most of the places ur applying to are reaches for anyone. The most important thing you can do is to be honest and spend the necessary time on polishing your apps to convey who you are. There are no minimum # of clubs or minimum grades/test scores required of you. I'd be surprised if you didn't get into UF, since they look mainly at grades/test scores and which you've got down. The other schools are all very competitive regular decision, especially any accelerated medical programs. Being a Floridian myself, and having been accepted to some of the schools on your list, I can give you some helpful advice on some schools your applying to:
For Brown, the entire app is basically essays, whereas most other apps are a combination of essays and listing of stuff. Use this to your advantage, esp. since you seem to be a good writer. For the questions, try to convey who you really are, not what u think they want to hear. I know this sounds kind of trite, but its def the truth. For my app, I tried to convey to them what passions I have, academically and outside of school. Also, you may have a tendency to just list your accomplishments/extracurriculars. While this is necessary, also try to explain to them what it is you've learned from doing these things and how it has shaped you into who you are. The latter is going to have much more impact.
Duke- the app is basically a mix of listing and essays. Concentrate a lot on the 2 essays b/c thats whats gonna distinguish you from the other 18000 ppl who want in. They give you the option of submitting any essay for the main part, so again, use this to your advantage.
The med program - I also applied to an accelerated program, tho not at GW. I'd have to say that, based on personal opinion & knowledge, med programs tend to look less at the subjective parts of the app and more on the concrete things - like ur test scores, grades, etc. Therefore, Id say that this is possibly ur hardest reach since ur scores, tho really good, might not qualify in their eyes.

For all the places your applying to, if there is something in particullar about u that just doesnt come off that clearly in the apps, even if it does, send in supplementary materials. Even tho they might not look at everything u give them, sending in good supporting items, such as particularly provoking essays, additional info, rec letters, research papers, etc. will be extremely beneficial since they add to the image theyre trying to form of u. I actually went to the FSU program so if u decide on that, u can send in a copy of ur research paper and the faculty evaluations with the program which was extremely helpful. Well thats about all I ccan think of now. gl with everything.

thanks so much for your post, lee! i'll def consider that part about submitting my research papers. i haven't heard whether i've been accepted into the fsu program for this summer yet.
