Chances for a community college transfer student?

I know there are TONS of these threads floating around but it would be nice to hear some opinions from Cal students

stats:
-3.44 transferable GPA (got two C's when I started school because I was a dope but since then I've only gotten A's and three B's)
-English major
-2/4 English prereqs in progress (Taking English 85B at Berkeley Community College because it was the most similar version of the Cal English 45B in the state. I made sure to mention in my Berkeley update that I commute a pretty long ways to get to that class :D)
-7 withdraws (most within my first year of school, ended up taking all the classes I withdrew from again and finishing with A's except I never retook Asian Art History and Elementary Drawing)
-IGETC: will complete by end of this semester

e/c:
-English tutor (paid)
-Saving my money to pay for school
-Worked in my sister's English class in Los Angeles while I was out of school for one semester
-ASG Representative at my community college
-Member of the Poet's Club, Multicultural Student's Club and Transfer Club
-Cabin leader for sixth grade outdoor education
-Various awards back in k-12 like Golden State Exam awards, etcetera...

essays:
-Well written except the third one was a bit shakey but it was still OKAY
-Talked about my dream of becoming an English teacher one day because of my sister's teaching style
-( actually would love to share these essays with anybody if they feel like reading them and telling me what they think)

So, what do you guys figure my chances are?

I appreciate any comments you guys leave. Thanks in advance!

I think your GPA and withdrawals will definitely harm your chances. Not to mention the reputation of Cal's English department is really good, so it won't be as lenient.

SEVEN Ws? That's a grip, and ECs don't really matter for CC transfers. It's all about grades, courseload, and essays.

Seven overall - not all of them were transferable classes. And 4 of them I repeated with an A.

Actually I just looked over it all again. I have EIGHT withdraws (CRY) but I retook five of them and completed the courses with A's.

-Three of the W's were for the same class (I wasn't getting a bad grade, I just was a stupid student and awfully lazy).
-One was from a non-transferable class that I took last semester due to the ill-advice of an adviser who claimed it was transferable (made sure to mention this on the Berkeley Update).
-One was because of a job issue (an art class) and I don't plan on taking it again.
-One I retook last semester and got an A.
-One I'm retaking this semester and I'm currently getting an A.
-And one I never bothered retaking (and probably won't).

The three W's were an English class (English 1B I think is the name at Cal: Advanced Composition and Critical Thinking) but I'm hoping the A will make it just look like I was young and dumb.

Would that soften the blow at all?

humm, soften the blow.

well, you'll find out the answer to that soon wont you?

haha good luck

I'd say you have a shot, but its probably a long shot with your GPA and the dropped classes. Cross your fingers.

Even after the retakes, I think it's a long shot particularly due to your 8 withdrawals.
