Chances for a couple of top schools?

Hey guys, I’ve been working on college applications this senior year and would like to know where do I stand in my chances of being accepted into a couple of my reach/dream schools, my info

Ethnicity: Asian American

SAT: CR-680, M-800, W-730 (10 Essay)–2210
SAT II: 690 Lit (Retake this Oct), 690 USH (Retake), 780 Math
GPA: 4.3 Weighted GPA
Rank: 9/131
Senior schedule: AP English Lit, AP US Gov, AP Stats, AP Bio, Honors Spanish IV, Creative Writing
AP scores (if they even matter): AP World 4, APUSH 5, AP English Lang 5

Extracurriculars:
Model UN (3rd year, won best essay prize in Dartmouth Model UN last year),
Varsity Swimming Team for 3 yrs (6th and 7th in Division II Champs last year in two events)
4 years of Varsity golf
1 year of US Club Swimming
Speech Prize competitions at my school

Volunteering:
100~ hrs, spent around 75 hours working at a soup kitchen for the poor

I am a pretty good essay writer and have been working on the college essays for a long time so I feel pretty strong about those, but I feel I don’t quite have a ton of extracurriculars or a good enough test score to get into the top schools

Here are some of my reaches/dreams schools, please leave an honest answer about some of them, if all that would be awesome:

Williams College
Haverford College
Bowdoin College
U Chicago
Cornell
Boston College

Thanks guys! Any response would be great!

My intended major is English btw if that explains why I took less math and science courses over my high school career

Your CR score is low for an English major. I was going to ask why you are taking the Lit subject test when your CR score is fairly low. Typically those too scores go hand in hand. So… your scores are low in that area, and it is your proposed major. Colleges will notice.

What is your unweighted GPA? That is what colleges look at.

I would say that Williams, Chicago, and Cornell are going to be tough without higher scores. I’d say you have a shot at the others. Given that the schools you have the best shot at don’t need subject tests, I am wondering why you aren’t taking another shot at raising your CR scores. It would make them more of a match – and even good subject test scores likely won’t push you over the top at your top 3 because that CR score is weak.

I agree that your scores could be higher… but I also know how hard it is to attain ‘that’ 700. I called Cornell and the lady told me that about 70% of the kids at Cornell had either a 650 or 650+. So, don’t worry. I am sure you will be okay and if you are rejected it is not because of your scores.

What school did you call at Cornell? Because that does not sound right.

I never managed to perform well on the SAT, and I’m taking the Lit test because I’ve been able to practice that and get around 750~ for that, I might take it again on November but I really don’t want to take the SAT a 4th time this Oct.

You will get into 3-4 of those schools.

Boston College is a Catholic school unlike the other secular schools. If interested in other top Catholic schools might look at Notre Dame or Holy Cross.
