Hello there everyone. I am interested in what YOU think my chances are to be accepted into these wonderful universities. I currently have a very low gpa (3.0) but I have taken all honors classes my whole high school career. Im intelligent, I just never do homeworks or worksheets. I figure that it doesnt make sense to go to school for 7 hrs a day then go home and do more work. I have a pretty high SAT score however. (1970, with 700 in reading, 680 in math, and 590 in writing). What are my chances of being accepted into these schools:
Villanova University
St.Josephs University
Penn State
University of Pittsburgh
Temple University
West Chester University
I plan on majoring in Psychology, but I plan on being pre-med.
Thank you everyone

Villanova - no
St Josephs - not sure
Penn State - no
Upitt - no
Temple - possibility, but you’re still under the average GPA
West chester - no idea

Telling a college that you are intelligent but lazy will not work whatsoever.
Also, if you plan on doing pre-med, then you need to rethink your study habits, because it is tough as hell

I was not aware that hell was noted for its toughness. Thanks for your reply though :)

Not sure what point you are trying to make. Are you under the impression that hell is just an easy ride?

To be honest, I haven’t been there enough to comment on that. I wouldn’t say it was too easy, the roads are too bumpy.

Immature as well

Make sure to put that right under the part where you assert that homework is pointless on your resume

I would but I wrote my resume on a napkin and I don’t have much room left. Thanks for the advice though James!

Just don’t declare to the world that you are lazy and hate work. You will have a chance.

What is your class rank? If you have a decent class rank (like top 25%) and your weighted gpa is quite a bit higher you may do better than expected. Based on the info provided here are my preditions:

Villanova University - No
St.Josephs University - Yes, with at least a 50% merit scholarship
Penn State - Yes, (unless applying for engineering or pre-med, then no)
University of Pittsburgh - Yes, barely
Temple University - Yes
West Chester University - Yes

St. Joseph’s has an 87% acceptance rate and 75 percent of their admitted students have an SAT score below 1200. You are far above their typical student in standardized test scores. West Chester is very easy to gain admission to.

You will not make it as a pre-med major (and certainly will not get into an MD program when finished) so don’t waste your time. Psych is fine but is overloaded at a lot of schools - consider applying as general arts and declaring later.

I don’t hate work by any means. I do all the work necessary to understand the subject. I ace all my tests because I understand the information. I dont know it just seems pointless to do hw when I know the stuff

My school does not have class rank, I wish we did. And I plan on majoring in Psychology so engineering wont be an issue.

bump :))))

Ok well the responses have certainly died down. Time to pull out the big guns. Whoever chances me will now receive one (1) high five from me. So lets start chancing away!

You got into temple ive seen people on this site whove gotten in wit 2.6 gpas
*on a side note wit ur current work ethic u will not succeed in an educational endeavor u set ur mind on; work on it bc i truly believe that u like everyone else has an opportunity to succeed in life (although to varying degrees)
