I’m currently a student at a community college in suburban Detroit, so I’m not too far away from OSU. I’m interested in applying to Ohio State and transfer in junior standing. What are my chances of gaining admission?
Background: First generation college student, Southeast Asian
Household Income: <$50k
CC GPA: 3.59 (aiming for a 3.8+ by the time I apply)
Credits: 57
ECs: Created a database for a local charity organization using SQL, Kiwanis member, community service award
Intended major: Management Information Systems
Also, how is the financial aid for OOS students? If I go to OSU for my last two years, I’d have to pay back $80k+ in student loans, assuming I get no grants. Do you think it would be worth it or should I stay here in Michigan? Is OSU generous with aid for transfers?
