Chances for a transfer student

Hey folks! I’m about to be a second-semester sophomore at a SUNY college. I’ll be applying for Fall '08 transfer admission to AU. Do I have a decent chance?

-College GPA: 3.1. Not so great, but I’m hell-bent on getting as close to a 4.0 as I can this semester. So if they wait to see my grades, I should be OK.
-President of College Democrats; administered growth of organization from 2 students to over 30. Voter drive participation, helped coordinate national global warming awareness day, and am currently in contact with my county Democratic committee re: GOTV operations for the NY primary in February.
-History Journal editorial board, member
-I’ve won a couple prizes, including third place in the annual Global Studies dept. essay contest (only freshman to even place in the competition).

HS wasn’t anything special. About a B average, 29 ACT.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I think it all depends on how much you can bring up your GPA. I say shoot for 3.3+.
