Few minor leadership position and volunteer work
A member of school orchestra and played in various concerts

My ECs are Okay, but SAT I is not good. I'm still working on it. Where do you think I can aim for Thanks a lot

Forget to mention, is there any chance for me to apply for financial aid? Thanks

what do u want to study?

u need to list ur ecs, bcoz believe it or not they are usually more important than ur SAT scores

ahh, u should at least get 700+ on Writing.
-.- people from the mainland always take chem, physics and math 2 -.-!!!
nice =p

i don't see many chinese people in china with a lot of ECs... usually all they care about is school. it's like 7 days a week there... i don't think you shoulda gone to HK or japan or wherever to do the SATs... it doesn't hurt your chances not to take them, but it certainly does if you do poorly (not that you did).

Anyway, i dunno but probably cornell level... but always aim high so HYPSM blah blah blah depending on whichever one you like the most.

I plan to study in the US. I don't have too many ECs except my involvement in science research and Olympiad team.

Just to clarify, I plan to study in the US, but not sure which universities are suitable for me. My main ECs are science research and Olympiad programs. But I can include a few minor ones like my my involvements in school orchestra. In addition, I'm look for at least a partial financial aid.

Yes, BUT what do u WANT to study?

funny that you're asking for chances without indicating school/major prefs

do you study in singapore?

TOTALLY SOUNDS LIKE A SINGAPORE CHINESE SCHOLAR DUDE!
I absolutely your olympiads and research and stuff!
As for schools you should try for- I'd say you have a shot at the top schools, so you should give 'em a try. Apart from that, if you're really really big on the US, keep some decent safeties- UIllinois, UMich etc. (these are safeties, right? am a n00b myself! hehe!); but as I'm guessing you study in Singapore and assuming you're a genius with your GODLIKE olympiads and stuff, NUS/ NTU are pretty good safeties too!

Do say, ARE YOU REALLY A SINGAPOREAN STUDENT? Damn curious!! :D

UIllinois and UMich are safeties only if you don't need financial aid!

I'm a Chinese, not Singaporean.

will your parents be able to pay for your college education fully?

your sat ii is excellent and so is sat i math but frankly speaking, you need to improve on critical reading. however, i still think overall you still have a pretty good chance for top schools as long as you have good teacher recs and essays.

if you want to go to engineering school, it shouldn't be a problem. cornell, umichigan, cmu are all good choices for you.
