You’ll get into Carlson just be sure to apply EARLY.

Honors is honestly a crap shoot. I talked to a few kids at my orientation (also Carlson) who had 3.9’s unweighted and 32’s on their ACT who didn’t get in. Getting into UMN honors is ridiculous.

Sigh maybe I’ll get into the Honors program next year haha

I spoke with someone from Honors last week and they are very interested in the breakdown of your ACT. They specifically focus on Math and English. If you have higher numbers on those 2 parts you should have a better chance of getting into honors.

i got a 31 on my act 33 math and 32 english, with a lot lower GPA than yours and i got into carlson, but no honors. like someone said, honors is a crap shot, do well your frosh year and try to transfer into honors.

and don’t worry about AP, i didn’t send them my AP grade and i had only taken 2 AP classes. but do the optional essays!!!

Excellent chances for Carlson especially if you apply early.

Honors looks little on the ‘may be’ side. It is a crap shoot as someone said in this thread. Some really good applicants on CC did not get into Honors last fall and I barely did - although their stats were better than or similar to mine and had way better work experience than me. Also, if they really emphasize your Math and English sub-scores, then I would say perhaps a 50-50 chance. Good luck.
