I think for Columbia you have just as good of chance as anyone. Your gpa is a little low as well as your SATs. I think you could really improve your chances if you got your SATs into the 2300s or your gpa higher. But also realize that a lot of other factors play into admissions decisions as well, especially your essay. I would say your in at all your other schools. Best of luck at Columbia!

Hey! I’d say that Columbia, Barnard, U of M and Tufts will be pretty tough reaches. Besides your volleyball (are you planning on recruitment?) your EC’s are pretty weak, with no leadership positions or anything out of the ordinary.

Your SAT’s are really good, and your GPA is also very good, although it seems to me that both have to be much higher to compensate for your lack of EC’s.

Rutgers and Boston U will be acceptances I predict, and I don’t know enough about SUNY Binghamton or U of Rochester to say.

All the best!

(Please chance me back, BTW, if you can!)

Unlike what curious said, you don’t have as good of a chance as anyone for Columbia. Many students have better GPAs, test scores, and ECs. It will be a challenge for you.

Didn’t want to sound harsh, but I think curious painted a deceptive picture. Good luck.

The biggest thing you could do right now would be to improve on your extra-curriculars IMO.

I don’t think anything’s wrong with your SATs, they could be better but they don’t need to be, though GPA is a bit low. Those alone won’t keep you out anyhow.

ECs are not bad. It would be easier to chance if you gave a short description of the type and amount of commitment you put into them though, like applications would have you write.

Wouldn’t say you have a great chance, but it’s a realistic reach for you :)
