Chances for Hopkins, UChicago, WUSTL, and USC Class of 2019?

Hi guys! I’ve just applied for RD to Hopkins, UChicago, WUSTL, USC, Tulane, and St. John’s Univ, but I feel really anxious about my chances of getting in. So can you please tell me what you think my chances are?

SAT: 1800 (CR:580, M:650, W:570)
ACT: 27 (32E, 27M, 25R, 26S)
GPA(unweighted): 3.9/4.0
Class Rank: 5/360
AP: Biology
ECs:
-Member of a charity group abroad
-Member of an environmental group abroad
-Varsity Tennis (got up to regionals)
-Health Occupation Students of America
-Boys and Girls’ Club
Awards:
-3rd place in school level science quiz bee
-3rd place school level NHD
-competed in state level NHD
Hooks:
-Moved to the US 2 years ago
-Asian(?)(Not really sure if that’s a hook)
-Also got an awesome rec from a doctor
-Goes to a Magnet school

My intended major is Biomedical Engineering/Chemistry.

I know my SATs and ACTs are low because I didn’t really study for it ( and I deeply regret it T.T), but I really want to go to Hopkins and UChicago. What do you guys think?

JHU - Reach
Chicago - High Reach
WashU - Reach
USC - Reach
Tulance - Reach
St Johns - Match

Your SAT and ACT are all well below avg for every school except St Johns. Your GPA is good, but you don’t specify your class rigor so it’s hard to tell if that is in all regular classes or honors/AP. You have only have 1 AP and no score for it (did you take an exam for it?). Your ECs are pretty average and you don’t really display leadership. You say you moved to the US? Are you a US citizen? If you are not, that is very detrimental to your app as you will be classified as an international and that really demotes any chance at most of these schools. The rec from the doctor won’t matter at all unless you worked and compensated by this doctor. Overall, I think all of these schools are pretty much out of reach at this point (unless your essays were tear jerkingly amazing) except St Johns, which you should have a good chance at.

Ok. Thanks for your honest opinion. I’m still applying to other colleges, do you have any suggestions?
