Applying JHU Early Decision

Bump teh bump

Ill chance back to the best of my knowledge lol.

JHU and Rice are reaches while the others are matches. Very strong SAT score and amazing GPA.

CHance me
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1407523-how-my-chances-pepperdine-ucsb-uci-cal-poly-slo-university-miami.html</a></p>

Thanks man. I’m hoping that by applying ED to JHU it will help me immensely. Any opinions on how much it will help? (i like percentages)

when the pimps in the crib mahn drop it like its hawwwwttt

can someone just go school by school with percentages of acceptance? i’ll return the favor.

(ten characters)

“I’m hoping that by applying ED to JHU it will help me immensely.”

It won’t. Only apply there ED if you want to go there. It will not help you at all, but not hurt you. Your SAT score will not be impressive compared to the other highly qualified applicants.

Let’s talk about ways to improve your app:
-You clearly have passion in Tennis—use this. If you depend on your other ECs, it will hurt you. They seem like BS to me.

-GPA and SAT are fine. Take SAT again if you can.

-Johns hopkins recommends 3 SAT subject tests.

Good luck pal.

yeah i don’t believe that taking the SAT again is an option. I’m taking two subject tests next month but was only planning on sending them to the schools that require them ie) not JHU. The reason that i say that i heard that ED helps you at JHU is that i saw a statistic for JHU nearly doubling acceptance rate of ED because it shows commitment. thanks

That’s a lot of schools! You certainly have a list there. Strong scores and ECs.

I would say Johns Hopkins, Rice, and Duke are reaches (test scores are a little under). Tulane, SMU, UNC, UVA are probably high-mid matches/easy reaches. UT Austin, Baylor, TCU, UH are pretty well set for you.

I am applying to Rice ED. I am reading a book right now called “The Early Admissions Game.” It basically lays out how applying early can significantly increase chances of admissions. Look into it.

Best of luck with everything! If you don’t mind, would you chance me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1406268-ed-chances-rice.html?highlight=rice</a></p>

If you could see your app developing between now an January, I would hold off on ED.

already did dude! first chancer haha

Ohhh I see now. Thanks!!

would it be worth it to take the SAT again for my regular decision schools? i’d only be able to take it in december, and it would be my 5th test so i dont think that’s good. plus i’d only be able to raise my score probably to about 2120

…

Are you using score choice? None of the schools you are applying to require you to turn in all your tests so the amount of times you take it is irrelevant.

I would recommend it if you think there is a reasonable chance you will get a 2200+

i made the error of sending rice and duke my first few and bad scores so what do you suggest that i do?

Pretend like you didn’t send them or find other competitive schools and apply to those instead. You cannot change what they have.

in your opinion what are some of the best schools that i have a reachable shot at with this current SAT score or max of 2120?
