Their honors program is strictly based on numbers. Top 10% of applicants get into the honors program. 75th percentile ACT is 32. I don’t know the top 10% numbers, only top 25%. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not I will likely qualify for their honors program.
ACT: 33
NU GPA: 4.55
Do you guys think these stats are in the top 10% of applicants? The info is not online so all I can do is speculate. Does anyone have more info. on Northeastern’s numbers? Thanks in advance!
My bet is that a 35 and maybe a 34 would be top 10%.
Mid 50% last year was 31-34.
Oh… I saw on another thread that a kid in the class of 2020 with a 31 ACT got into the honors program at Northeastern. I think I probably saw an old CDS then. I also read on their website that they factor in leadership and community service… I was student body president and 11th grade rep and have about 300 hrs of meaningful service.
@drewharrahill @TomSrOfBoston do you guys know if there’s a formula involving one’s scores and GPA that determines whether the applicant is in the top 10%? For instance, if a kid with a 34 and a 4.5 and a kid with a 35 and 4.3 both get accepted, which one is more likely in the top 10%?
Also would I apply to the honors college? And how do I re-weight my GPA according to NEU’s method?
Applying to the college of arts, media and design… I know they do top 10% per college so would that change my chances?
