I applied EDI to washu got deferred and decided yesterday to apply to Northwestern as a major reach, is the application a waste of time for me??

No application is a waste of time if you want to go. I hate when people think like that. As it stands, your stats are a little low but you have to remember that there are people who got in with lower stats just as there are people who got in with lower stats. I think your ECs are pretty strong and, obviously, you tackled a tough course load. Work on your essays and get good recs and I'd say you have a shot as fair as anyone else.

I think Medill would've been a tough route for you, but WCAS should be a bit easier. I'm also applying (I want, very desperately, to get into their writing program) to WCAS. Good luck.

Well your grades and scores are a bit low HOWEVER you never really know what the officers are thinking. If you would have applied ED to NW your chances would have been much greater, this seems like a pretty big reach, but you still should send in the application if you have interest in going. Good luck!
