Im currently a freshman at UCI majoring in business econ
and want to hear if I have some chances in following universities

Applying: Upenn Wharton, Columbia, USC Marshall, NYU Stern, Carnegie Mellon Tepper, and Cornell

Current GPA: 3.7, will try to raise it up to 3.9 by end of the freshman year

High School GPA: 3.7 uw / 4.1 w, top 10% , took 6 IB courses and received IB diploma, 6 AP courses with all 4's i believe

SAT I: 1990
SAT II - Math II: 790, Korean: 800, U.S: 710

Ecs: Not so great, just have 2 years of work experience at a SAT academy, internship at a CPA office, and currently member of KCCC and undergraduate business association at UCI.

Well, I'm got an early start on my essays so I can make it the best I can. I will get from recommendations from a great professors who know me well at UCI

Honest input will be appreciated! Thanks :)

It’s very difficult to get into a college as a sophomore transfer that you could not have gotten into as a freshmen. So I’d say Wharton and Columbia are highly unlikely. The rest are worth a shot although they are all reaches. Better chance after 2 years and an SAT retake.

Your SATs won’t help at this point, really. Even with a 3.7, it will be very difficult for you to get into any of the schools you mentioned. USC Marshall is probably your best chance, followed by Tepper, then Stern, Cornell, Columbia, and Wharton.

I would stay at UCI for another year before transferring.
