Hey all, I was just wondering how my ACT score would be in applying to Stanford.
I just took my first one and got a 34 on it. I’m just worried because my room’s writing time was cut by a whopping 10 minutes, and I guess the ACT company did nothing about it because I got a low score as well as several other people in the same room. And so I guess my main question is, will a 25 as a writing score hurt my chances of getting into Stanford? Should I retake the ACT since this was only my first time?
If it helps, my SAT score was a 2070, and I plan to retake it later this month.
And I’m already aware that all ACT and SAT scores must be handed in.
No, a 34 is REALLY good. I wish I had yours haha I am applying Stanford this year, and I got a 28 first time… a 34 is basically perfect to all universities. You don’t need to take it again, but since Stanford SUPERSTORES you could just take the ACT again mainly for your writing if that is what you’re worried about…
I got a 33 and asked the same question. I got into Stanford and I didn’t take it again. You can click on my username and look at my thread which has some answers as well.
Coincidentally, I also got a 2070 on my first SAT. I took one more time and ended up with a 2170 superscore.
I took it once and got a 34. There is no need in taking it again.
How was your time cut by 10 min?
