Senior Year:
My school offers its students the opportunity of taken legitimate undergrad courses at Princeton University, with Princeton students. I will be taking one in French.

EC's:
Got gold medals in Remote Sensing, Ornithology and Disease Detectives in the Science Olympiad state tournament this year.I was on the 1st place team as well. I'm going to nationals tomorrow.

Got 1 gold medal at states last year, but did not go to nationals.

I have a USCF rating of about 1620.

Participated and placed in National Ocean Science Bowl, as well as DOE Science Bowl.

Qualifed for USAMO this year. Failed freshman and sophomore year.
Tiered in Mandelbrot twice. Participated at Princeton Math Competition and HMMT.

Have taught chess at a local library for 2 years, free of charge.

I don't mean to sound overconfident, but I'm pretty sure I'll be a National AP Scholar once my scores come out this year, for what it's worth.

Well, that's my CV, guys. I'm really nervous, and would truly appreciate some advice. Should I even bother applying to the Ivies? I am a Chinese male.

Harvard and Princeton are both SCEA, not sure about Georgetown. Please check its website.
That means you can’t apply other EA schools if you apply to either Harvard or Princeton.

You can’t apply to all those schools EA. Especially not Princeton and Harvard.

Low GPA, so those are all gonna be pretty high reaches for you. But worth a try.

I do apologize. I don’t know what impelled me to include Harvard and Princeton. But is my GPA going to utterly ruin my chances everywhere else? I’m pretty sure I’m in the top 10% of my class.

Is your school really, really hard? In that case, it is entirely possible. Colleges also assess you in the context of your own school, so if your GPA is high for your school, they will be able to see that.

You’re going to need to cut down that list a lot, I don’t know if finishing those EA apps will be easy for you. Though I suppose you know that.

Your grades and scores are great, the only thing id work on is your ec’s. You have some good ones but they all seem to be school related so the only suggestion id have is to do some activities outside school, even if its only little things, it makes you look more well rounded.
While scores are important, schools also really want to see well rounded students to add diversity to the school

Chance me back please? =)

I can’t understand how your weighted GPA can be so high with all the B’s. My daughter has gotten all A’s and a few A-, and she took all honors and AP courses offered, and her GPA is 4.28

All honors and AP courses offered? How many non-honors/AP did she take. Also, my school applies weird numbers of credits to courses here.

Based on everything I see, your best bet would be apply early to the school you want most. You seem like a strong candidate!

@naggingmama different schools do it differently. I certainly have higher than a 4.28 and I once got a B+. In fact, I’m roughly .6 higher than that. The OP’s school is different than yours. Like I said, all schools grade and weight differently, so expecting them all to calibrate it the same way isn’t going to work out.

ECs not great/nothing distinguishing and w/o a clear passion. SATs alone can’t carry you and, though you show a clear upward trend, I don’t see it being good enough for HYPSMCB, Caltech and Penn. You should be fine for all the public schools you plan on applying to.

I also forgot to mention i was a USABO, USACO and USAPho semifinalist this year (fail).
