Hello everyone,

I am looking to transfer out of my 4 year state school and into a different university. I have a 3.2 GPA right now at my university and was wondering what places I should shoot for. I'm from Seattle, WA and location of a university is not really an issue for me. I'm also a business major.

Thanks in advance

How many credits do you have?

Some schools are going to want to see your high school stats; what are they?

What is your budget? Most schools do NOT give much aid to transfer students, so you may have to pay for all costs.

I would be transferring at or around a junior level.

My high school stats were pretty bad -I had around a 3.0 GPA (unweighted) at the end of high school.

My budget is not really an issue, obviously cheaper is better but when I want to transfer into the best schools I can I won’t turn down a good school because of it’s cost.

Here is my list so far, tell me if I have a chance at any of these:

University of Washington
Seattle University
Pepperdine University
Northeastern University
Boston University
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
University of Miami (possibly)

Also, are my chances significantly less to the out of state public schools such as UNC compared to the private schools I mentioned?

buuuuump, any help would be greatly appreciated

How will you pay for school if budget is not an issue?

My parents pay for my college.

Any ideas if these schools are attainable given my transfer GPA?

UNC-CH is difficult to get into out of state.

However, there are other OOS publics that will accept you.

You would get into Seattle U, Pepperdine, and probably BU.

What else do you want in a school besides a good B-school?

Quiet small campus?
Larger more spirited campus with sports to watch?
Rural campus?
City campus?
Since you have Seattle U listed, then Catholic schools are ok, right?

I prefer a city campus due to the greater amount of internship possibilities available. Sports to watch are a plus but isn’t a make or break kind of thing.

I basically want to transfer into the best undergrad business school that I can. My favorite areas are near Seattle, Boston, and in North Carolina (all due to family being in these areas) and California due to the wonderful weather (hence, Pepperdine).

And yes, catholic schools are fine with me.

I remade my list after further research:

University of Washington (legacy)
Seattle University (legacy)
Pepperdine University
Northeastern University
Boston College (legacy)
Boston University
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
Wake Forest University
