Chances for UC Berkeley?

Hi guys! I've been a lurker on CC for about a year, but now I'm finally posting to get some advice. I know these "Chance me please!!!" threads are probably annoying, but I'm stressed out and feeling desperate. Any help you guys provide will be greatly appreciated.

I'm applying as a transfer to UCB, UCSC, UCLA, and a few CSUs for Fall 2011. As my name suggests, though, Berkeley is my first choice. I currently attend a CCC.

Here's my info:

Major: American Studies/English
UC GPA: 3.75
Prereqs: Completed for all except UCLA
IGETC: Finished by Spring 2011
TAG/TAP: No
ECs: Work full-time (40 hrs/wk), literacy tutor at local library, published poet, founder/poetry editor of campus literary journal, honors program, AGS, scholarship recipient, and I presented a paper at a student research conference at UCI.

Now, here's the source of my stress: Last semester, I withdrew from ALL of my classes. I had a major bout of depression and I guess I just couldn't handle it. Next semester, I have a rigorous schedule and plan to get straights A's. Do you think, if I write great essays, Berkeley will even consider giving me a chance? I want to go there so badly, but I worry that I've completely blown my chances.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for your input.

If you were forced to withdraw from all of your courses for a documented medical condition from which you have now recovered or are being successfully treated there would be no legitimate reason for Berkeley to hold it against you. It should not be seen as any different from a situation where you were injured in an accident and needed an extended period of time to recuperate before you could resume a normal schedule.
