UW and UC Davis are my first and second choice. thank you!
You should be admitted to UW based on your SAT score & GPA.
What is your capped weighted and fully weighted UC GPA? Intended major?
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Last year, for UW Seattle, the SAT (middle 50%) range for admitted nonresidents was 1320–1460 (internationals, 1350–1450).
Unweighted GPA (middle 50%) range for all admitted students was 3.71-3.95 (2018 enrolled average was 3.8).
My intended major is Psychology. My GPA (according to the UC GPA calculation you gave me) was a 3.85. I hope to raise my sat score to 1400+ in October
Your GPA is below the averages and UC’s tend to be very GPA focused vs. test focused. Psychology is a very popular major and although the College of L&S does not admit by major, I would say your chances are probably 50/50.
Average 2019 UC capped weighted: 4.13
2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific: UCD: 41%
2019 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT totals: UCD: 1230-1490
Make sure you have 2 good safety schools and your list and best of luck.
@whitefox589: curious where you ended up choosing? On a diff note, I’m trying to choose between UCD and UW and want to attend the Keio 1 year program in Tokyo.
I got into UCD for Enviro design and UW for Envi Studies. I’m more interested in public health in light of all changes to our global health in last 3 mos. So I want to decide where is best. Perhaps @gumbymom can help me out? I respect all of your insight.
I ended up choosing UW and decided to be a math (teacher prep) or education, communities, and organization (basically education) major if the math major is too competitive. Keio in Japan is very well-known and I`m sure you will have a great experience there. I wish you the best in college too
