I have a 1320 SAT, and a 4.04 weighted GPA, and a 3.89 unweighted GPA. I have 2 honours courses: Precalculus honours and AP Psychology. I also got a 770 on the SAT biology. Do you guys think I make a competitive candidate for either of these schools?
What are your UC GPA’s, Unweighted Capped Weighted and Fully weighted?

Intended major?
CA resident?
EC’s?
Senior year courses?
Your HS course rigor looks lacking. Does your HS offer only a few UC approved Honors or AP courses?
My UC capped GPA is a 4.04 and weighted is a 3.89. I intend to major in Psych. Bio would be my first choice but it’s competitive enough that I think I have a better shot going for psychology. I’m a CA resident. I do choir, I’m in my school’s GSA club, marine sciences club, astronomy club, and DND club, and I have some volunteer hours but I have way more hours of work.
Senior year I’m taking four UC approved honours courses: 3 AP’s (AP Comp Gov, Biology, and Calculus AB) and French IV honours, although I intend to take the AP French exam.
It’s worth applying but I think your chances are slim at either school. Those stats might get you into UW if you were a WA resident, but probably not OOS. Be sure to have some solid backups.
Interesting in that these are two of my favorite public universities.
I think that you are competitive for both schools.
Taking 4 UC approved honors classes senior year doesn’t help the GPA.
4.04 WGPA seems high if only 2 honors classes were taken between 10th and 11th grades.
Here is UC admit data (2018 is the most current available) and not major specific. UCD does not admit by major but by specific division for the College of Letters and Sciences (Psych). For Biology which is impacted, they admit by the College of Biological Sciences.
You are a qualified applicant but UCD is definitely not a solid Match plus UC’s tend to be more GPA focused vs. test focused.
If you are a CA resident, there are plenty of other UC’s and CSU’s along with privates which would love to have you.
